BOTANICAL REFLECTIONS

A unique art practice that uses preserved flowers as a medium of expression and reflection. In a fast-paced world that feels increasingly isolating and overwhelming, this meditative practice urges you to slow down and connect to both your inner self and the natural world around you.

In 2023, these workshops started as way for me to share my practice and encourage collective learning. The session offers an intimate exchange of self-taught techniques and discoveries from my creative journey. Through the practice, participants will explore themes of care, community and curiosity to help recover their inner artist child. Together, we’ll uncover the healing power of art and nature, inspiring deeper connection and intuitive creation.

OVERVIEW

The workshop is designed to encourage you to trust your own creative instincts and explore nature not just as inspiration, but as collaborator and muse. You’ll learn to slow down, notice more and create from a place of presence. Over the course of the session, I’ll guide you through my slow, intentional process.

01 FORAGE
Shift your perspective through mindful wandering and observation. This is where we begin to slow down, noticing what often goes unseen.
02 PRESS
Engage with the quiet rituals of repetition and dissection. As we press flowers, we begin to study them — understanding form, texture and nuance.
03 HARVEST
Time becomes part of the process. We learn to wait, then gather and gently categorize materials when they're ready.

04 REFLECT
Take a step back to observe.
What patterns are forming? What emotions, thoughts or memories arise?
05 MAKE
Here begin to compose. This is where techniques are introduced and decisions emerge naturally through play and presence.
